Overview: We are seeking an experienced Architectural Job Captain to join our dynamic team, specializing in mission-critical projects. This role requires independent judgment and problem-solving ability to apply architectural principles innovatively. You will play a crucial role in anticipating project needs and contributing to successful design solutions. Responsibilities: Modify or create complex drawings and implementation documents with minimal supervision, utilizing architectural techniques that require independent decision-making. Facilitate interaction within design groups and assist in coordinating consultant teamwork. Manage the architectural team’s project work effectively. Prepare design computations and documents, ensuring that project information flows seamlessly and design intent is captured accurately. Assist in reviewing, modifying, and coordinating implementation documents, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and zoning requirements. Engage in higher-level responsibilities for professional development. Deliver project milestones in alignment with our service scope and HKS standards. Participate in meetings with clients and consultants as needed. Contribute to team discussions about project issues and cross-disciplinary coordination. Willingness to travel as required. Qualifications: Education and Experience Accredited professional degree in Architecture or a related field. 4+ years of relevant experience in the industry. Licenses and Certifications Actively pursuing Architectural Registration. Sustainable design accreditation is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expert-level skills in Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam are essential. Proficient in Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Twinmotion, Enscape, or other visualization tools. Advanced skills in MS Office Suite are required. Intermediate skills in Illustrator and InDesign; basic knowledge of Photoshop is necessary. Basic understanding of computational design and energy modeling. Comprehensive knowledge of sustainability practices and integrated design principles. Strong understanding of architectural building systems. Deep knowledge of materials, construction methodologies, building codes, QA/QC protocols, and specification processes, along with the ability to apply this knowledge in technical documentation. Strong research skills to enhance technical documentation. Experience managing projects through all phases, including post-occupancy. Exceptional graphic, presentation, and visualization skills to effectively convey ideas. Well-organized and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently. Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to problem-solve and develop innovative solutions. Ability to foster collaboration within a team environment.
