Estimating Manager - Major Project Lead

What we are looking for: S&B Construction is seeking an Estimating Manager with strong experience in the Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil industry. The ideal candidate will bring a focus on project costs, construction means and methods, and innovative strategies to win bids. Extensive experience with alternative delivery methods - such as design-build, best value, CMGC/CMAR, and/or P3 is highly preferred. What you will do: Thoroughly review and understand the project specifications and drawings. Exhibit a good understanding of how the owner pays for the Schedule of Values. Produce accurate take-offs and pricing of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil components. Complete cost estimates on project from $10M to $500M+ price range. Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations. Prepare/manage Minority Participation matrix. Analyze self-perform activities versus subcontracted. Prepare/assist in creating construction schedules. Prepare/analyze equipment utilization schedule. Update databases with labor rates, vendor plug values and equipment rates. Complete cost estimates for assigned scopes of work on larger projects. Provide mentoring for less experienced estimators. Manage a group of assisting estimators. Exhibit good communication skills with internal staff, subcontractors, vendors, client representation, etc. maintaining ethical standards. Manage Joint Venture estimates. Identify risks and opportunities for projects. Coordinate quantity and cost comparison with Joint Venture Partners.
