Job Title: FitterJob Description A Fitter specializes in fitting tubular structures and reading blueprints. We are currently seeking skilled fitters to fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various mechanical systems. To be successful in this role, you should be detail-oriented, focused, and adept at interpreting blueprints. You should also have the ability to safely use hand and power tools as well as demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Responsibilities Fit and join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. Lay out and assemble subunits or units of materials for large or specialized projects, which are then welded into position by welders. Ensure products are fitted to the specifications of each job and meet the outlined requirements for quality UT passable welds. Specialize in fitting transmission power poles, Substation A-Frames, High mast poles, Highway sign poles, and other tubular structures. Interpret and work with complex blueprints, drawings, and chalk lines. Adjust fittings based on the twist and camber of the pole. Work on A1 Frames and 12-sided poles, with a strong understanding of geometry (angles, degrees, pivot points). Use welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, and Air Arc. Organize and layout workstation appropriately, set up equipment, and work with welding symbols, welding diagrams, and blueprints. Essential Skills 1 to 2 years fitter experience required. Ability to read and comprehend complex blueprints and drawings. Experience with overhead cranes and crane operations. Firm knowledge of welding symbols, diagrams, and shop drawings. Ability to use hand tools and mechanical assembly skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience with flux core welding is beneficial. Good understanding of geometry, including angles, degrees, and pivot points. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a heavy industrial steel manufacturing facility. Be prepared for varying temperatures as the facility is non-climate controlled, which can be cold or hot depending on the season. The role requires the ability to work additional hours as needed and to work every other weekend. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Haltom City, TX.
