Your Purpose The Accounting Analyst - Accounts Receivable plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's receivables and related financial activity. This position is responsible for recording, analyzing, reconciling, and reporting accounts receivable transactions while supporting period-end close, internal controls, and SOX compliance. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Technology, and Enterprise Finance teams to support proper billing, recovery of outstanding balances, and continuous improvement of AR processes. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage high-volume, complex transactions in a fast-paced retail environment. What You'll Do Accounts Receivable Operations & Analysis Record, research, and maintain accurate accounts receivable balances in Oracle and related systems. Perform daily and weekly AR processing, including billing, reversals, lockbox review, and cash application. Prepare and research vendor aging reports and debit balance activity; partner with Merchandising and Vendors to recover overdue balances. Research AR transactions prior to period close to ensure accurate financial reporting; prepare monthly journal entries and accruals. Provide recurring and ad-hoc AR reports to Senior Management and Merchandising related to vendor billings, promotions, and collections. Reconciliation, Controls & Compliance Reconcile assigned AR and clearing accounts with a high degree of accuracy; prepare timely subsidiary-to-general ledger reconciliations with full supporting documentation. Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies related to billing, cash receipts, and vendor balances. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Support period-end close activities and maintain accurate and auditable financial records. Participate in internal control documentation, testing, and remediation efforts. Audit & Risk Support Provide AR documentation and analysis to internal and external auditors as requested. Participate in audit meetings and support management responses to audit findings related to receivables and billing. Assist with identifying control gaps, operational risks, and opportunities to strengthen AR processes. Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration Evaluate AR processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness. Partner with Technology and Enterprise Finance teams on system enhancements or implementations impacting AR and billing processes. Support company-wide initiatives that impact receivables, revenue recognition, or billing practices. Train and support Merchandising partners on AR policies and proper billing procedures. Independently manage assigned workstreams while proactively communicating risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to management. What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, 4 years' work experience, or combination of education and work experience. Experience with accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Preferred: Accounting experience in retail, banking, or high-volume transaction environments strongly preferred Physical Demands Physical demands include, but are not limited to, high aptitude for standing and walking endurance, sitting while driving to various stores, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling climbing ladders of various types, bending, squatting, and kneeling, and working in different temperatures inside and outside the store.
