Fortis Solutions Group is hiring a hands-on, high-impact Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor to lead preventative maintenance programs, reduce unplanned downtime, and keep industrial equipment running at peak performance. This role oversees maintenance technicians, manages PM systems, drives continuous improvement, supports equipment installs, and partners with Production, Safety, and Quality to ensure operational excellence. As the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor, you are responsible for supervising the maintenance of all company equipment and facilities. This includes coordination and execution of preventative maintenance programs (PMs), performing troubleshooting and emergency maintenance, project management for equipment and facility related initiatives, and driving down the Unplanned Maintenance downtime on all machines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Initiate, coordinate, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance programs (PMs) on industrial, mechanical, and pneumatic machinery to include PLC programming, general electrical and wiring. Equipment maintained includes flexographic presses, die cutters, rewind machines, and other production related equipment. Perform maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions or equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime of machines. Review downtime reports and utilize tools in the company’s software to monitor machine performance. Regularly assess all equipment and facilities and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Lead or facilitate continuous improvement teams. Coordinate with suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and outside contractors to ensure equipment is maintained in excellent condition. Manage various equipment and / or facility related special projects, including new equipment installations, equipment moves, building and equipment modifications Manage maintenance staff across multiple facilities to include schedules, employee discipline, and evaluations, as the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor. Up to 10% travel time in order to share best practices, receive training, provide training, and assist in projects. Maintain inventory of spare parts and be responsible for the related budget expenses. Evaluate and manage related contracts for facilities and machines. Communicate regularly with Production Manager, Safety and Quality Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing, and other staff regarding maintenance issue or needs. Coordinate with Safety Manager regarding OSHA and building code requirements to ensure all equipment complies with OSHA. Additional duties as required. Requirements: Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Some college or trade school highly desired. Must have at least 5 years of work experience in maintenance and facilities, specifically equipment maintenance, to include electrical experience. Electrical certifications or license is a plus. At least 2 years of supervisory experience. Project management certification or experience is preferred. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of PLC programming is a plus. Proficient with industrial, mechanical and pneumatic machinery. A working knowledge of OSHA, building codes, or safety practices is preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a software based preventative maintenance program. Be safety conscious and perform all duties with the highest level of safety awareness and practice. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to document policies and procedures (SOPs, Lock-out/Tag-out) and maintain records. Able to prioritize workload and projects, and delegate as necessary to achieve deadlines. Be proactive and organized with excellent problem-solving abilities. Proficient utilizing various power and hand tools. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, including email and able to learn the company’s software program in order to monitor equipment and production. Basis skills in design and fabrication including AutoCAD or similar software. Supervisory Responsibilities: Maintenance Technicians. Training Requirements: Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned. Physical Demands: Occasional Lifting (up to 50 lbs independently and up to 75 lbs with assistance). Constant walking, standing, bending, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting motions and other repetitive tasks in the performance of maintenance work. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical and subject to random drug screening. Work Environment: Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment. Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
