Requisition ID: 48229 Work Location: Public Works - Municipal Center Building 33 Pay Range: G.22, $49,254.40 - $76,336.00 Starting Salary: Depending upon Qualifications Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Part Time Hours/Wk: Job Open Date: 1/13/26 Application Deadline: Job Duties: We are hiring an Engineering Technician I/II in the Public Works Engineering Support Division. This position will perform a variety of duties related to the procurement of construction and professional services contractors. The role will primarily serve as a liaison between Public Works Project Managers and the Public Works Contracts Division to coordinate the documents required for the procurement process. Representative work functions may include, but are not limited to: Coordinating the submission of required supporting documents including required forms & plans from Project Mangers to the Contracts Division for Invitations to Bid (ITBs) for construction including Annual Renewable Indefinite Quantity (ARIQ) contracts, Annual Service Contracts (ASCs),and stand-alone bid contracts. Coordinating the submission of required supporting documents from Project Mangers to the Contracts Division for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) including A&E/Professional Services contracts, Design-Build contracts, and Job Order Contracts (JOC). Coordinate standard contract Front Ends & Front End Manual Perform various audits including Pre-Award Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Audits. Coordinate with Contracts division for procurement tracking, planning, and forecasting. Provide assistance with contract administration and inspection services as needed for CIP projects, including rate reviews and document coordination. Prepare and/or review engineering cost estimates and compile and track construction bid tab information. Limited plan review to ensure plan coordination with contract documents. Perform basic engineering calculations for proposed highway alignments, detail sheets, section sheets, summary sheets, profile and cross-section sheets, etc. Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements and demanding by those duties describing or less as stated in the linked job description. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs. Applications submitted on/after that date will only be considered if the candidate pool needs to be expanded Official City Job Description: Working Conditions: Minimum Requirements: MINIMUMS: High school or GED plus two (2) years experience in a related field such as civil engineering, drafting, surveying, or planning; demonstrated CADD/GIS/computer experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and formal training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory drug testing. Positive drug test results may result in counseling and/or discipline, up to and including, termination. Additional Requirements: DMV Transcript: Not Required CDL: Not Required DOT History: Not Required CPS Check: Not Required Physical: Not Required Respirator: Not Required Polygraph Review: Not Required Psychological Screening: Not Required Attachments Required: Preferences: • Municipal and/or government contracting experience including experience with Federal & State contracting requirements • Contract administration experience, especially construction contracts • Experience with Pre-Award Audits including FAR Audits • Experience in preparing engineering cost estimates and reports. • Municipal Roadway and Stormwater design and/or plan review experience • Experience in coordinating funding with Federal and State agencies • ArcGIS, CADD/MicroStation and/or 3D graphical rendering software experience. • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate and work well with others • Effective oral and written communication skills.
