Job Summary: CNC Machinists are responsible for producing high-quality machine parts on CNC equipment to meet customer demands. They will use the information provided by the programmer to implement a CNC mill/lathe. The goal is to prepare the machine for production and to fabricate consistent conforming parts. They oversee setting up and operating the equipment, as well as assessing the final products. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Set up and operate a variety of CNC machines to produce precision parts to specification. Perform hands-on CNC programming directly at the machine, making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Provide daily support for setup, operation, and optimization of CNC machine tools and programs. Collaborate on manufacturing strategies to produce parts efficiently and to quality standards. Adjust speeds and feeds to maximize tool life, improve surface finish, and reduce cycle time. Create and execute secondary operations such as part finishing, deburring, or additional machining processes. Operate forklifts to move materials, tooling, and finished products as required. Assist with tooling and material inventory management, including ordering and tracking. Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure reliability and longevity. Monitor and adjust machine settings throughout production runs to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to machining, tooling, or programming. Use basic and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions. Complete all required documentation, logs, and reports accurately and on time. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks Strong desire and ability to learn High level of attention to detail High level of accuracy, performs work accurately and thoroughly Strong sense of accountability and reliability Team-oriented and outgoing Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision. Proactive attitude towards tasks and challenges. Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED 1-3 years experience with CNC machines 1-3 years programming with Mastercam is preferred Knowledge of G and M codes Able to read and interpret blueprints Basic knowledge of GD&T, use of gauges, and an understanding of how the machines function Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting Able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds Reasonable Accommodations Statement: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
