Salary: $18.03 - $21.50 Hourly Location : Lakeville, MN Job Type: Seasonal Department: Parks Opening Date: 01/28/2026 Position The Seasonal Park Maintenance II is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City parks and facilities, with a focus on the operation of large equipment. Key responsibilities include: Field Maintenance: Operate equipment to maintain all City ball fields for daily games and tournaments, including dragging and preparing playing surfaces. Lawn Care: Operate large rotary mowers to maintain the appearance of City parks and facilities. General Maintenance: Perform a variety of other maintenance tasks as assigned, including but not limited to- Assisting with the repair and maintenance of park equipment Assisting with the installation and removal of park amenities General groundskeeping duties such as weeding, trimming, and raking This position provides routine to semi-skilled seasonal work in the Parks Divisions. Candidates must be available April - October. Up to 40 hours a week.First review of applicants will begin on February 9. 2026. This position is open until filled. Major Areas of AccountabilityPositions that qualify as Maintenance II: Ball field dragging - operate equipment to maintain all of the City ball fields for daily games and tournaments. Operation of large rotary mowers - operate large mowers to maintain the City parks and facilities. All positions will be expected to perform other various duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Some knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in general maintenance. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to operate a variety of motorized vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. Physical strength sufficient to complete the tasks assigned during varying weather conditions. QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age. Must possess valid driver's license and have a good driving record. Ability to operate or ability to be trained to operate various equipment as mentioned above. Must be able to work Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week. Must be able to work through October. Standard work hours 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Flexible hours may be available.
