The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Gather and maintain record documentsMake field notes and computationsDocument daily ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, etc.) during abrasive blasting and coating applicationCheck surface preparation using equipment and/or referenced standardsVerify profile depth and levels of salt contamination on the surfaceInspect the application of coatings (procedures, mixing, thickness) using test instruments and compare with the manufacturer’s data sheets and project specifications Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required SkillsRequired Experience 3 years of Structural Steel Coatings Inspection Experience6 months of coatings inspection experience on bridgesActive driver’s licenseAMPP/NACE CIP Level 1 certificateSSPC C3 certificateComputer/IPAD proficiency is preferred Working ConditionsWork is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Work may be performed at night.
