Position Description Estimator Established in 2006, Integrity Grading & Excavating (IGE) is a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in mass grading, site utilities, structural excavation, and infrastructure development. POSITION SUMMARY This is a full-time, on-site role for an Estimator, located in Madison or Schofield, WI. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the estimation process for heavy civil and highway road construction projects, contributing to the company's success and profitability. The role requires a thorough understanding of construction processes to ensure accurate and efficient project cost management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Complete Takeoffs: Perform accurate and comprehensive quantity takeoffs for all project components, including earthwork, utilities, paving, and structures. Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify necessary quantities and materials. Cost Estimates: Develop detailed cost estimates in bidding software during the overview stage of project development. Present estimates in a clear and professional manner to support decision-making and project planning. "Go-No Go" Meetings: Participate in "go-no go" meetings to assess the feasibility and viability of pursuing potential construction projects. Provide input and recommendations based on cost estimates, risk assessments, and market conditions. Subcontractor Outreach and DBE Documentation: Assist in the identification and outreach to qualified subcontractors and disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs) for project participation. Collaborate with subcontractors and DBEs to solicit bids and proposals, and ensure compliance with project requirements and diversity goals. Material Supplier Sourcing: Research and identify reliable material suppliers for construction materials and equipment. Obtain quotes and bids from material suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Quote and Bid Management: Coordinate the collection and review of quotes and bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Evaluate quotes and bids to ensure accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness. Occasional evening and weekend work, seasonal spikes in hours may be required as essential functions demand. Work Environment The job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Travel Occasional travel to IGE offices in Madison, Schofield, and LaCrosse, WI, as needed.
