Field Service Technician Department: Field Service Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports to: Field Service Supervisor About the Role As a Field Service Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers through commissioning, training, and troubleshooting of high-voltage switchgear systems. You'll ensure timely delivery of parts, perform advanced testing and repairs, and provide hands-on technical support both in the field and at our facility. Key Responsibilities Fulfill customer parts orders, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Respond to inquiries related to product storage, installation, testing, and non-conformance resolution. Conduct comprehensive testing on HV switchgear including circuit function, timing, insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, vacuum integrity, BCT, wire insulation, and helium leak tests. Perform precision repairs using power tools and work instructions both on-site and in-plant. Deliver classroom and hands-on training to customers at their locations. Document findings, generate reports, and communicate procedures using Microsoft Office tools. Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to company policies and safety standards. Analyze customer issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions. Stay current with industry best practices through workshops, publications, and professional networks. Qualifications Associate degree in Mechatronics or Engineering Technology preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or field service. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred). Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Willingness to travel up to 60% across the U.S. and Canada.
