Description Disabilities Board of Charleston County is now seeking to hire a Finance Assistant/ Payroll Specialist. Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and ensures the company payroll policies are in accordance with the government regulations. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks. Verifies all deductions and corresponding reports for accuracy. Prepares all federal and state payroll reports, FBMC and Insurance/COBRA reconciliations. Prepares W-2's at the end of the year. RequirementsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:(Specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following) 1. Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees and consumers in compliance with DBCC policies and government regulations. 2. Verify employee additions, terminations, and updates to agency payroll deductions. 3. Ensure accurate coding of all employee time to the appropriate expense accounts and locations. 4. Calculate and process employee deductions, including benefits, retirement plans, garnishments, and taxes 5. Review all payroll deductions and corresponding reports for accuracy. 6. Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters 7. Reconcile payroll records with quarterly payroll reports prepared by UKG Ready. 8. Prepare year-end tax forms, including W-2s and 1095-C forms. 9. Post all payroll-related general ledger entries in Sylogist, including month-end accruals. 10. Reconcile client bank accounts in compliance with Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) requirements. 11. Process payroll-related payments to ASI Flex and American Funds each pay period. 12. Reconcile insurance deductions with vendor invoices. 13. Follow safety policies and procedures 14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance. 15.
