Join the PECNA team today!ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: The Facilities Chemical Tech - Level 5 operates and supports chemical processing equipment, including pumps, reverse osmosis systems, and mixers. Key responsibilities include collecting samples during the production process for testing and ensuring that all delivery data, batch records, and operating parameters are accurately documented. This role contributes to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.Essential Duties:Functional Operations Operate and support chemical processing equipment and machinery, including pumps, reverse osmosis deionized water treatment systems, mixers, and related systems Monitor and manage central chemical processes to ensure safe and efficient operations Conduct control checks on raw materials and intermediates prior to production use Record chemical load check-in and check-out procedures Collect production samples for testing and analysis Operate and maintain tools and equipment within the functional area Ability to work all shifts and meet PPE and physical requirements Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance activities, including cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs Identify and support resolution of quality issues and process deviations Training & Team Support Train team members at the same or lower level within the functional area Collaborate with and provide oversight to Chemical Team members as directed Support operational readiness through knowledge sharing and hands-on guidance Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication Complete prioritized work orders and generate new work orders within the CMMS Accurately log time and provide clear written and verbal communication on work performed and solutions implemented Work closely with engineers, chemists, operations, and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and resolve issues Engage with internal and external teams as required to support operations and projects Manage significant maintenance projects or oversee moderate-scale projects with complex technical features Quality, Safety, & Compliance Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all safety protocols Respond to hazardous materials incidents in coordination with appropriate internal and external parties Support compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications Ensure adherence to quality, plant, and PECNA policies Maintain accurate documentation including delivery data, batch records, operating parameters, inspections, quality issues, and deviation records Maintain area cleanliness and comply with 6S standards Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area. This role also requires the use of a 40 Cal Arc Flash Suit. It is intended to be an accurate reflection of the general nature and level of the job.Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or PreferredEducation Required: A high school diploma, GED, or at least 2 years of experience as a Chemical Processing Technician, Facilities Maintenance Technician, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred: Associate of Science in Engineering (ASE) or an Associate of Applied Science focused on chemical engineering or a related field Essential Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of years of proven experience as a Chemical Process Technician or in a comparable position A valid state-issued driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle as necessitated by the position's responsibilities Four years or more experience in a manufacturing or production environment Certified in NFPA 70E and has completed the Qualified Electrical Technician (QET) program or possesses the capability to swiftly obtain certifications in NFPA 70B, OSHA 30, and HAZWOPER 40 Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical disciplines, effectively operating Possesses a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and digital voltmeters, along with an intermediate level of knowledge regarding test and alignment equipment The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently while collaborating with and supporting internal and external team members according to the demands of the role or department Ability to commit to working rotating shifts and to undertake overtime, as necessary Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety by meticulously adhering to established safety protocols and procedures Proficient experience in Hazard Communication Regulations, which includes the proper procedures for donning and doffing Personal Protective Equipment as necessary, as well as the systematic review of Safety Data Sheets for new materials Ability to lift heavy objects and effectively perform the physical demands needed for this position including prolonged standing and functioning within confined spaces Proficient in the English language, encompassing adeptness in reading, writing, and verbal communication Preferred Qualifications: 8+ years of related work experience 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment HAZWOPER experience Preferred License(s): NonePreferred Certification(s): Hazardous Materials Technician Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Physical DemandsPhysical Activities: Percentage of time (equaling 100%) during the normal workday the employee is required to: Sit: 30% Walk: 30% Stand: 30% Lift: 10% Required Lifting and Carrying: Not required (0%), Occasional (1-33%), Frequent (34-66%), Continuous (67-100%)For this position, the required frequency is: Up to 10 lbs.: Frequent Up to 20 lbs.: Occasional Up to 35 lbs.: Occasional Team-lift only (over 35 lbs.): Occasional BENEFITS & PERKS - WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:Panasonic Energy prioritizes total well-being and offers comprehensive benefits options to support physical, emotional, financial, social, and environmental health: Health Benefits - Offering medical, dental, vision, prescription plans, plus Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account options.
