Buffer / Metal Polisher

Company Description The metal polisher/buffer is responsible for the buffing, or polishing of our different metals including brass, bronze and stainless steel and a variety of other metals with the use of a polishing lathe. Job Description Operate polishing lathe machines on brass or other metal substrates Correct surface defects, smooth surfaces, and polish or buff to desired finish Set up and operate polishing equipment. Apply polishing compound to buffing wheel Buff parts to achieve smooth or mirror-like finishes. Record daily production on production sheets. Expectations: Meet productivity goals. Meet quality goals. Understanding manufacturing capabilities, processes, and procedures Must manage and complete multi-functional tasks quickly. Must be willing to work in a fast paced, intense environment, with the ability to complete assignments. Must be willing to wear a respirator mask. Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines. Other duties as assigned by Manager. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The employee frequently is required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The employee frequently will apply pressure to the air way buff. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the expectations of each essential duty.
