Position Overview The Maintenance Technician ensures the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of The Nicewonder Inn's facilities, including guest rooms, yurts, common areas, and exterior spaces. This role is vital in upholding the Inn's luxury standards by providing prompt, high-quality maintenance services and supporting seamless guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repair work for guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior areas. Inspect facilities and equipment regularly to identify and resolve maintenance issues. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems as needed. Carry out preventive maintenance, including system checks, filter replacement, lubrication, and basic servicing. Respond quickly to guest and staff maintenance requests, prioritizing urgent or safety-related needs. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Collaborate with housekeeping and other departments to minimize guest disruption during repairs. Support seasonal property upkeep, including landscaping, snow removal, and exterior cleaning. Assist with setup, teardown, and technical support for special events or functions. Monitor and record maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders for accurate documentation. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or inspections. Conduct safety inspections and immediately report hazards, damages, or unsafe conditions. Perform minor carpentry, painting, and finish repairs to maintain property aesthetics. Monitor utility systems and alert management to abnormal readings or performance issues. Ensure all work complies with safety guidelines, building codes, and brand standards while maintaining a professional and courteous presence around guests. QualificationsRequired: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 2 years in maintenance, facilities, or a related trade. Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Preferred: Vocational training, trade certification, or hospitality maintenance experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Strong technical aptitude across multiple building systems. Effective communication skills when interacting with guests and colleagues. Commitment to quality, safety, and hospitality standards. Work Environment / Physical Requirements Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
