Long Term Substitute Elementary Math Interventionist

Position Type: Substitute/Long-Term Substitute Date Posted: 10/15/2025 Location: Ledyard Public Schools Date Available: January 2026 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Ledyard Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Elementary Math Interventionist beginning in January 2026 and continuing through the end of the 25-26 School Year (based on the needs of the district). The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the School Administrator and MTSS Coordinator to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills. Qualifications: Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and paraprofessionals Ability to promote positive self-concept in each student; provide encouragement to each student to develop his or her full potential Demonstrated excellence in teaching math principles Enthusiasm for teaching and learning Promotes a positive learning environment responsive to and respectful of the needs of students Understands social and emotional needs of students Successful elementary teaching experience preferred Ability to work with a diverse student population Responsibilities: Work in the interest of the students' physical and emotional welfare and to embrace a growth mindset Establish instructional programming and provide direct instruction to students who are in a tiered intervention Provide coaching for classroom teachers which directly aligns to district initiatives and goals Collect/analyze both formative and summative data for purposes of planning instruction Effectively consult and collaborate with school personnel, parents/families, and other professionals regarding student placement, materials, and instruction Maintain contact with parents, school personnel as needed to evaluate students' academic and social growth Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of people, including students, their parents and staff Continue to acquire professional knowledge of current theory, research and best practices in mathematics by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research Supervise and provide training for support staff to include paraprofessionals Participate in the MTSS process and evaluate referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic procedures Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Required: Bachelor's degree Connecticut Certification Endorsement 013, 305 or 005 Pay : The daily rate for substitute teachers is $130. Please note for long term substitute positions (40+ days): The daily rate for long term substitute teachers with certification is $278.61 beyond the 40th consecutive day worked in the same assignment.
