General Repairman A

Primary Duties: Journeyman skill level is required in one trade discipline and the ability to perform satisfactory work in all disciplines. Work skills and knowledge are acquired through a formal apprenticeship and or on the job training. Interpretive and working knowledge of plant utilities / systems, building layout, air, steam, electric, water, waste, fire protection ect… Work assignments are received and performed under the general supervision / direction provided by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Repairman. Work activities vary in content and skill requirements using the full range of work skills and knowledge required of the General Repairman inclusive of, but not limited to the following: millwright, electrical, computer, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, heating, cooling, sheet metal, and carpentry. Perform in a cooperative work relationship with other support personnel such as Engineering, Tool Room, Supervision, Manufacturing Department Personnel, and outside contractors. Activities are performed in various locations company wide. Work performed can be conducted at various heights (below or above the plant floor), in enclosed restricted areas, and in a variety of conditions (indoors, outdoors, heat, cold, wet). Working knowledge of computer maintenance spare parts inventory system and inventory management. Practice applicable safety rules in performance of duties (ex. lockout / tag out, fire, hearing, eye). Keep machines, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly for operational and work force safety benefits. Keep any production or quality related records. Employee is responsible for operational productivity, continuous improvement / suggestions and involvement. Employee is responsible for product, function, quality and job safety. This requires the employee to maintain a full working knowledge of the performance, quality and safety requirements of the function being performed. The employee is to support job related operational training needs regarding existing and or new manufacturing practices / processes / technologies. Perform any other duties related in nature that may be assigned by the supervisor.
