About the job Civil Construction Estimator - Heavy Highway Civil Construction Estimator - Heavy Highway (On-Site)Location: Louisiana Salary: $100,000-$120,000 DOE + Discretionary Bonus Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site (Pet-Friendly Office) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our growing Project Management Team. This role is ideal for a seasoned estimator with a strong background in Heavy Highway and Civil Construction, including concrete paving, site work, and underground utilities. You will play a key role in preparing accurate, competitive bids for state and federally funded projects across Louisiana. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy highway and civil construction projects Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications Review plans, scopes of work, and Louisiana state & federal bid requirements Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes Develop full estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead Support bid strategy and assist leadership with go/no-go decisions Collaborate with Project Managers on project financial planning and execution Maintain estimating databases, vendor lists, and cost history Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 10+ years of Heavy Highway Construction estimation experience Strong background in concrete paving, site work, underground utilities, drainage, sewer & water Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and Primavera P6 Working knowledge of AutoCAD for plan review and take-offs Excellent contract interpretation and plan reading skills Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration abilities Stable work history and in-office availability (5 days/week) Preferred Experience Field experience in civil or highway construction Established relationships with Louisiana subcontractors and suppliers Experience bidding DOTD and municipal projects Benefits & Perks Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Matching 401(k) Life Insurance & Short-Term Disability Accident & Critical Illness Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Pet-friendly office environment About Us We are a Louisiana-based Heavy Highway Contractorspecializing in concrete paving, site work, concrete barrier installation, and underground utilities.
