This role is ideal for a dedicated acute care nursing leader with 2-3 years of recent acute hospital leadership experience in Med/Surg, ICU, PCU, telemetry, or a step-down unit. Job specification Candidate requirements Job specification Oversee and evaluate patient care delivery within the department, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Advise the Acute Care Director on department status, budget planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and support the team in delivering exceptional patient care. Provide leadership, supervision, and management of nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork. Develop, plan, and implement effective staffing strategies that optimize patient care and operational efficiency. Support unit-based quality improvement processes, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulations. Advocate for patient rights, privacy, and safety, maintaining a supportive care environment. Monitor patient responses to care, recognize changes in physiological and psychosocial status, and take appropriate actions. Candidate requirements Must have 2-3 years of RECENT acute care leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager) in an acute hospital setting. Experience in Med/Surg, ICU, PCU, telemetry, or step-down units preferred. Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required. Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) - must obtain within 30 days of employment start date. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - must obtain within 30 days of employment start date. Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
