Production Supervisor

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for the 2nd Shift team, in its Dallas, Texas facility. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is preferred), 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience in a production environment and experience in a supervisory role. Job Summary Oversees plant operations; includes shift to shift coordination, maintaining safety and security throughout entire facility and ensuring efficient production. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation. Supervises, directs and assists in overall operation of the facility including safety, training, observing, scheduling, reviewing and counseling employees. Ensures quality and quantity of product produced. Ensures efficient operation of facility; including and authorizing scheduling changes to coincide with scheduled production needs. Responsible for building security; including setting alarms and granting or denying access to the facility. Completes production reports. Complies with and enforces safety rules and regulations (wear proper safety attire; steel toed shoes or coverings, hearing protection, safety glasses, shields and gloves as needed), is not involved in horseplay, is cautious when near equipment and machines, always make sure safety guards and contactors are in place and operational. Maintains clean machine and work area (sweeps, removes waste, etc). Formally appraises performance; coaches/counsels employees; takes necessary disciplinary actions; and determines method in which work is performed. Other (Non-Essential) Functions Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be reassigned to other employees as part of a "Reasonable Accommodation" under the ADA. All other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions Manufacturing environment. Exposure to high production/output machinery and equipment, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc -- all materials an employee may come in contact with are detailed with readily available MSDS sheets), and constant noise. Must be able to work in hot or cold weather. While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach and occasionally required to sit. Experience in the envelope industry is preferred. Excellent time management and communication skills. Basic written and verbal communications skills. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read a ruler. Must be able to work 2nd shift.
