Field service technician

Are you a mechanical problem-solver who enjoys being out in the field rather than stuck behind a bench? Randstad's client in Ronkonkoma is looking for a Field Service Technician to be the face of the company at client sites. You will be responsible for the "full lifecycle" of our proprietary machinery-from initial unboxing and installation to emergency repairs and routine maintenance. What You Bring to the Table Mechanical Aptitude: experience with hand tools, power tools, and reading blueprints or technical manuals. Electrical Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits or PLC systems is a major plus. Communication Skills: You are comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical clients. Mobility: A valid driver's license is required, as you will be traveling to various client sites across Long Island and the surrounding areas. salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year shift: First work hours: 7 AM - 4:30 PM education: High School Responsibilities Installation: Travel to client facilities to set up, calibrate, and test new industrial machinery. Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled "wellness checks" on equipment to ensure peak performance and prevent downtime. Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or software issues on-site and execute high-quality repairs. Client Training: Briefly walk clients through basic operation and daily maintenance best practices. Documentation: Keep detailed digital logs of service calls, parts used, and work performed.
