Position Description JOB TITLE: After Care Coordinator DEPARTMENT Early Education REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt; Administrative Calendar HOURS: Part Time LOCATION: All Campuses At Calvary Christian Academy, a ministry of Calvary Chapel, we are a community of Christian believers who exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ through a biblical school environment that prepares students to glorify God spiritually, academically, and socially. Purpose Statement: The Early Childhood Assistant Director's role is to assist in the development of the Early Childhood program, including but not limited to: actively participating in the planning and implementation of the early childhood goals, policies, procedures, curriculum decisions, communications with parents, and the assessment of the needs of individual children, under the guidance of the Early Childhood Director. The Early Childhood Assistant Director will also assist the Early Childhood Director in the promotion of CCA to the community. Scope: This position interacts with students, staff members and parents to assess, develop, and accomplish an academically challenging, developmentally appropriate, nurturing environment that best meets the individual needs of each child enrolled in CCA's Early Childhood program. Specific Responsibilities: Provide support and contribute to responsibilities of the Early Childhood Director Plans and organizes school wide initiatives for the development of the Early Childhood Program and aftercare (ACE). Oversees ACE staff, rosters, schedules, ordering & storage of snacks, equipment, & classroom supply needs, sign-in/sign-out sheets, etc. Oversees Brightwell communication between staff and parents Oversee children's accident reports Ensures efficient and effective arrival and dismissal of students Ensures necessary and advisable supervision of students Ensures Teachers are prompt and effective in their roles Works with Admin Assistant to ensure student files are complete for four (4) annual inspections by Early Childhood inspectors Enforces completion of Early Childhood requirements for staff and students Maintains master calendar along with Admin Assistant Ensures review of lesson plans, weekly team meetings, provides support and accountability as necessary and advisable Monitors staff dress code and implements accountability procedure Words with Director to ensure necessary and advisable staff communication through weekly (PreK) and monthly (Preschool) staff meetings Maximizes resources available to meet exceptional, remedial, and enrichment needs of students Ensures accurate reporting and documentation of PTO, staff absences Ensures adherence to overtime worked by administrative approval only Ensures appropriate teacher credentialing/certification Makes operational decisions including but not limited to student discipline, curriculum, student achievement, staff and parent needs, aftercare for PreK, school events, injury, sickness, personnel, security and safety concerns Collaborates and assists in planning, implementation, and execution of whole-academy and whole-preschool events and initiatives. Plans and facilitates in-house field trips and ensures their safety and appropriate administration Conducts admissions interviews and compiles documentation for any recommendations of expulsion Conducts fact-finding relative to potential child abuse and neglect reporting. Works with Early Childhood Director to develop and maintain staffing pattern for the Preschool Works with Early Childhood Director to develop and maintain job descriptions and work calendars for all staff Attends school events including meetings as necessary Accomplishes effective collaboration with all Calvary Chapel ministries Oversees staff as per CCA organizational chart Oversees faculty development goals: classroom management and instructional methods/best practices and shares appropriate assessment recommendations after testing Oversees annual academic and spiritual goals of assigned faculty Assures teachers are using Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards as it pertains to lesson planning and implementation Assigns preschool staff to specific areas Inspects Early Childhood classrooms as needed for adherence to ACSI and BCCLE standards for Early Childhood programs Fulfills any related duties as requested by Administration Qualifications/Skills/Gifts: Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ Commitment to the philosophy and Statement of Faith of Calvary Chapel Knowledge and ability to apply God's Word A strong desire to serve the Lord and people Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to children, parents, and colleagues Love for children and a desire to see that they have a right relationship with Jesus Christ Spiritual gifts of administration, leadership, teaching, discernment, service, helps, and exhortation Commitment to mission Proactive orientation Adaptability Good listening skills - listening with compassion and empathy Organized and effective at following schedules; good time management skills Able to multi task with many interruptions Critical thinking/problem-solving Strong communication skills Decision-making and judgment skills Planning and organizational skills Effective analytical skills Proficient computer skills; specifically, Google drive, Gmail, spreadsheets, Popsicle program Physically able to manage active children (i.e., playing on floor, carrying, engaging in play and discipline) with infants through 4-year-olds. Must be able to tolerate disinfectants, sanitizing products and latex gloves. Must be willing to change diapers if necessary Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood (preferred) National CDA or equivalency Completion of all DCF and BCCLE Training requirements for childcare Work Schedule: Part Time; however, incumbent may be required to work an evening or weekend day to attend a CCA event, or assist with an emergency situation affecting the church facilities (i.e., hurricane prep or clean up, etc.).
