Amazon's Global Operations Services & Support (GOSS) Compliance & Data Integrity (CDI) vertical is seeking a highly talented and motivated Risk Manager III to own complex compliance operations programs within the Compliance Operations & Controls function-a critical team that makes CDI compliant day-to-day across 4K+ facilities, 50+ regulatory frameworks, and 34K+ data points, executing compliance frameworks, monitoring controls, supporting audits, and remediating issues. A successful candidate for this role will have an established background in risk management, strong technical acumen with compliance management systems and control frameworks, experience leveraging automation for compliance monitoring, along with excellent project management and communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate independently with limited guidance in ambiguous problem spaces, building consensus across Director-level organizations while creating predictable compliance controls and process paths. The candidate will also have a proven track record of managing and mentoring team members, with a strong focus on operational excellence, process improvement, and measurable customer satisfaction. Key job responsibilities • /tOwn and deliver complex compliance operations programs that span multiple teams or focus on critical compliance areas (e.g., implementing unified licenses and permits compliance management platform, building automated compliance monitoring dashboards, establishing audit support mechanisms across regions) • /tManage the full lifecycle of initiatives from idea through design, approval, build, launch, iteration, and deprecation • /tNegotiate and define obligations with stakeholders, setting clear program objectives and success metrics • /tUnblock teams and increase speed of delivery by identifying and resolving technical, organizational, or resource constraints • /tIdentify opportunities where compliance automation could unlock business value or remove perceived risk blockers • /tOversee rollout of compliance controls and audits, including testing and measuring effectiveness of automated compliance monitoring mechanisms • /tInfluence roadmaps, business and technology decisions across CDI functions and partner organizations • /tWrite clear and compelling narratives (6-pagers, PR/FAQs) that explain compliance operations programs and their business impact • /tPresent effectively to Directors and VPs on program status, risks, and recommendations • /tImprove, streamline, and/or eliminate excess processes or controls that create friction without adding value • /tDrive efficiencies in how compliance operations are delivered and maintained • /tCreate predictable controls and process paths that teams can follow independently • /tReview metrics proactively to identify areas for improvement • /tSeek new/improved visibility mechanisms to measure compliance operations effectiveness A day in the life Amazon Benefits: Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
