Build Your Career with Ashley! Welder Fabricator We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our fabrication department. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you'll cut, drill, fit, join, weld, and repair steel components while working collaboratively across multiple fabrication processes. Key Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication: Hand weld and fabricate various metal parts in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions, ensuring compliance with shop welding requirements and codes Equipment Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment by managing gas flow, wire feed rate, and heat settings according to standard practices Assembly: Assemble parts in fixtures or jigs to precise specifications Quality Control: Inspect work for defects, quality, and dimensional requirements; make timely corrections to ensure proper alignment and conformance to specifications Machine Shop Operations: Operate various equipment including saws, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools as needed Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor equipment maintenance and replace consumables such as nozzles, contact tips, weld wire spools, rods, gas bottles, and gauges Blueprint Reading: Work from shop drawings, blueprints, sketches, work orders, and verbal instructions Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all OSHA regulations and safe work practices Record Keeping: Perform routine documentation as required Communication: Notify supervisor immediately of faulty equipment or defective materials Qualifications Required: Welding experience in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches Proficiency with hand tools and fabrication equipment Strong attention to detail and quality Understanding of OSHA safety regulations Reliable attendance Preferred: Experience with various welding processes Machine shop equipment operation experience Knowledge of welding codes and standards Who We Are At Ashley, we're more than a business...we're family.
