Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Physical Therapist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: 03/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a primarily outpatient role utilizing Epic EMR. Responsibilities Work setting is primarily outpatient with coverage of acute inpatient and swing bed rehab as needed Patient population includes a wide variety of diagnoses common to rural communities, such as geriatric weakness, balance/gait issues, orthopedic post-ops, and inpatient medical conditions Treats 8-10 patients per day with sessions generally scheduled every 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on patient needs Monday through Friday schedule with 8-hour day shifts; flexibility available but candidate must be able to work Fridays On-call weekend coverage required for two weekends during the 13-week assignment, including potential holiday coverage May assist with inpatient caseload on Fridays depending on census Epic EMR is used for both inpatient and outpatient documentation; training provided Responsibilities include providing therapy to outpatients, assisting with acute inpatient and swing bed rehab, and participating in discharge planning Department includes 3 rehab aides and 2 PTAs, with a supportive front office team and scheduling assistance Epic EMR and hospital orientation provided at the start of assignment Scrubs of any color or business casual attire permitted Must cover 2 weekends on call in a 13-week contract; these may coincide with holiday coverage Returning travelers or previous staff must have a 2-year break before reapplying Not open to local candidates living within 50 miles of the facility Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in outpatient and acute care settings Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy license required if applicable Ability to supervise a Physical Therapist Assistant Drivers license address must be outside a 50-mile radius from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-673442.
