The Associate Director manages signature events, supervises staff, and advances student development through the integration of leadership education and NACE Competencies.Summary of responsibilities:Student Advisement and Development: Provide direct advisement and support to student leaders and organizations involved in campus programs and traditions such as Global Programming, Program Board, and the Homecoming Committee. Demonstrate strong student advisement skills by coaching students through leadership challenges, decision-making, and conflict resolution. Integrate leadership development and NACE Core Competencies into student advisement, programming, and student employment experiences. Leadership & Administration: Provides strategic leadership and direction for university programs and traditions that enhance student engagement and sense of belonging. Supervises professional staff, graduate students, and interns, including hiring, training, and performance management. Develops and implements annual goals, priorities, and program strategies in alignment with divisional and institutional objectives. Integrates leadership development and competencies into student involvement initiatives. Serves as a departmental representative on committees, workgroups, and campus-wide initiatives. Program & Event Management: Designs, coordinates, and evaluates major university traditions, including but not limited to Homecoming and large-scale campus events. Ensures programs are inclusive, student-centered, and reflective of Florida Atlantic's diverse student population. Review, negotiate, and manage contracts and agreements with vendors, performers, and service providers in accordance with university policies and procedures. Oversees event logistics, risk management planning, marketing strategies, vendor relations, and contractual agreements. Collaborates with campus partners, student organizations, and community stakeholders to support and expand programming. Assessment & Operations: Develops and implements assessment tools to evaluate program effectiveness, student learning, and engagement metrics. Prepares reports, maintains records, and uses data to inform planning and continuous improvement. Manages budgets, assists in the preparation of the budget request cycle, tracks expenditures, and steward of activity & services fees.
