Part-Time Apprentice - CNC Machinist - Student Opportunity Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a Part-Time CNC Machinist to join our team as an Apprentice for up to one year. This opportunity is ideal for students currently enrolled in high school or a technical school who are looking to gain real-world, hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment - and potentially launch a long-term career with us. About the Role As a part-time CNC Machinist, you'll join our team of experienced machinists and embark on a rewarding journey to becoming a skilled professional. You'll learn alongside a qualified journeyman machinist, gaining hands-on experience with various machining techniques, blueprint reading, and operating sophisticated machinery. What You'll Do Assist experienced machinists in setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines (depending on company needs). Learn to read and interpret blueprints, machining instructions, and other technical specifications. Perform basic machining tasks under close supervision, ensuring parts meet required dimensions and tolerances. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols. Assist with material handling, tool setup, and other tasks as directed. Participate in classroom training to learn the theory behind machining processes, mathematics, and measurement. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. What We're Looking For Must be 18 years of age or older. Enrolled in a technical or trade school program (either high school or technical college) with a completion date of May 2026 or beyond. Strong interest in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance or other industrial trades. Excellent math skills, particularly in geometry and basic algebra. • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team and individual environment. Please Note This is a part-time, temporary role (up to 1 year). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future. No company benefits are provided during the apprenticeship. This role is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience and potential career pathways.
