Job Posting Title: CNLD Undergraduate Student Associate - Work Study ---- Hiring Department: Department of Physics ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 15 ---- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt ---- Earliest Start Date: Immediately ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until May 15, 2026 ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: The Department of Physics plays a pivotal role in the advancing of knowledge, nurturing the next generation of physicists and making a lasting impact on the world of physics. This position is open to work study students only Job Description Summary The purpose of this position is to assist faculty and students in the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics. The position will involve ordering equipment and supplies to support research programs, and office supplies used by group members. In addition this position will assist in the public presentation of the Center, starting with visual displays in common work areas, and as time permits assisting with the website. Key Responsibilities: Purchasing for the CNLD research programs and purchasing of office supplies for the group. Preparation, submission, and monitoring of administrative forms, particularly for travel. Updating and maintaining displays in CNLD common spaces Assist in creating visual and multimedia content to enhance online communication efforts and website. Qualifications: Current junior or senior majoring in science, engineering, or a related field Creative, detail-oriented, and organized, with an ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to explain scientific topics to a broad audience Preferred: Familiarity with building and maintaining websites. Work Schedule & Compensation: Part-time student work study position (10-15 hours per week, flexible scheduling) Compensation in accordance with university work study guidelines Hourly Rate: $18.00Working Conditions Standard in-person office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Physical Tasks Some lifting and moving of equipment may be required. May work in standard office conditions.
