Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/09/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring prior travel experience, cardiac drip management, and strong arrhythmia knowledge. Responsibilities Hospital telemetry unit with 32 beds serving an adult to geriatric patient population Primary patient cases include cardiac arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia), CHF, chest pain, post cardiac cath/PCI, DKA, renal, pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), and surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains) Occasional overflow of vascular, orthopedic, and CVA patients who are transferred to appropriate units as soon as possible Patient ratio of 1:5–6 Functions as overflow IMCU as needed EMR: Epic (preferred); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication protocol Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) Every other weekend required Floating within the facility within scope of practice as needed On-call is rare; 2-hour response time required if called in Responsibilities include arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac drip titration and management, hemodynamic monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath care Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC management, central and peripheral line care, port access, phlebotomy, feeding tube management, insulin drip titration, and blood product administration Navy blue scrubs required RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them and no holiday RTO will be approved; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule modifications will be accommodated Local candidates are accepted for this position Previous charge nurse experience is preferred Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered Experience with cardiac drip titration is required (amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex, lasix) Hemodynamic monitoring and post-PCI care experience required Basic and advanced arrhythmia interpretation and management required Experience with TR bands and cardiac monitoring required Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred Candidates who have previously worked for or as a traveler at this health system must have been away from all system facilities for a minimum of 1 full year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-674809.
