Transmission Technician

Seminole Chevrolet is looking for a highly qualified, experienced Transmission Technician to join our service team! Transmission experience is required for this position. As a Transmission Technician at Seminole Chevrolet, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive transmissions on different types of vehicles. This role requires a keen understanding of the transmission systems, excellent problem solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.Technician Specific Benefits Uniforms providedDiscounts on products and servicesWork environment OSHA certified to current Air Quality StandardsHighly productive shopCareer advancement opportunities, promote from withinASE and state inspection certification reimbursement and all training expenses paid to further your careerContinued education, manufacturer hands on and web based trainingClean and professional work environmentCompetitive wages based on experience What We Offer Medical and Dental InsuranceHealth Savings AccountVision InsuranceLife InsuranceShort term disability insurance401k plan with employer matchPaid TrainingPaid time offEmployee discounts on products and servicesInternal Growth Responsibilities Receive repair orders from dispatcher/Advisor and take to the stall area.Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs.Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required.Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands.Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.Keep shop area clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
