REQUIREMENT PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) Project Duration: 1 year, with possible extension based on performance Location - Austin TX Work Type - Onsite Type of Visa - Indepedent GCs/US Citizens only Job Summary We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases supporting mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will ensure database availability, performance, security, and scalability in production and non-production environments. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across environments Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and tune queries, indexes, and configurations Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies Ensure high availability (HA) and replication using tools such as Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, Patroni, or PgBouncer Manage database security: user roles, access controls, encryption, and auditing Perform capacity planning and database growth forecasting Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Ansible Support application teams with schema design, query optimization, and migrations Perform patching, upgrades, and version migrations with minimal downtime Maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks Provide on-call support for production issues and incidents Required Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (10+) Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing Experience with backup tools (pg_dump, pg_basebackup, WAL archiving) Knowledge of replication, clustering, and HA solutions Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments Experience with monitoring tools (pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios) Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL Experience working in production environments with SLAs Thanks & Regards, John Stanley- Sr. BDM / Delivery Manager Maintec Technologies Inc 8801 Fast Park Drive, Ste. 301, Raleigh, NC 27617 Mobile: +1 (919) 267-1887 / +91- 98411-45549 Email: ; | LinkedIn :Bangalore | Chennai | Hyderabad | Pune | Noida | USA
