JOB SUMMARY: As an Inventory Counter at USA Industries, you will hold a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory management processes. Your primary responsibility will be conducting meticulous physical counts of inventory items across our facilities, ensuring that our records align with the actual stock levels. You will play a key role in identifying discrepancies, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions to optimize inventory accuracy and minimize stock-related risks. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:Embrace and exemplify company's core values of Trust, Support, Communication, Collaboration, and Creative Solutions. Conducting regular physical counts of inventory items, including raw materials, finished products, supplies, and equipment. Comparing physical inventory counts with the records in the inventory management system to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies. Entering inventory count data into the inventory management system or using designated software accurately and promptly. Maintaining detailed and organized records of inventory transactions, adjustments, and discrepancies. Perform physical inventory counts with inventory records to ensure accuracy and completeness. Identifying stock shortages, overages, or discrepancies and reporting them to appropriate personnel. Assisting with organizing and maintaining inventory storage areas to ensure efficient and safe storage of goods. Assisting with periodic or scheduled inventory audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records and compliance with inventory control procedures. Adhering to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines while performing inventory counting and related tasks. Collaborating and communicating with other team members, such as warehouse staff, inventory managers, and procurement specialists, to coordinate inventory activities and address issues effectively. Actively participating in efforts to improve inventory management processes, procedures, and systems. Conducting visual inspections of inventory items to assess their quality and condition. Investigating root causes of inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Assisting with the maintenance and calibration of inventory counting equipment, such as handheld scanners, barcode readers, or weighing scales. Participating in cross-training initiatives to develop proficiency in additional warehouse or logistics tasks beyond inventory counting. Providing support to internal stakeholders, such as customer service representatives or sales teams, by assisting with inquiries related to inventory availability, order status, and product information. Assisting in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to inventory counting, reconciliation, and control processes. Assist in training new hires on order pulling procedures, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively. Be on call as needed, providing timely support during critical inventory situations or emergencies. Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer, whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS:EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent required. Work Experience 6 months - 1 year of inventory, logistics, or warehousing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. SkillsProficient PC skills (email, scan & upload documents, internet, Microsoft Office, etc.), including warehouse management and inventory software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, other departments, and customers. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and troubleshoot Inventory related issues. An analytical mind with strong attention to detail. Forklift certified or ability to obtain certification. Utilize tools for measurements and counting (tape measure, weight & count scales, etc.). Proficient in multitasking, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently. Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Willingness to work weekends and overtime hours, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules. Available for on-call duty as scheduled, demonstrating readiness to respond to work-related needs outside of regular hours. Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull. Continuous standing and/or walking. Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights. Good eye/hand/foot coordination. Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
