Engineer 2 - Distribution Location: Trussville, AL/ Pelham, AL Experience Level: 3-7 years Contract- 1 Year Job Summary The Engineer 2 - Distribution is an entry-level engineering position responsible for supporting electric distribution system planning, design, and project execution. This role requires the application of engineering principles to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the electric distribution system. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in engineering, strong technical and communication skills, and a desire to grow within the utility industry. Key Responsibilities Assist with the design, planning, and maintenance of electric distribution systems. Utilize ArcFM GIS Mapping or similar technologies to support system mapping and network modeling. Support project management activities, including project tracking, coordination, and documentation. Prepare and review engineering documentation such as design standards, technical reports, and system plans. Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to stakeholders both verbally and in writing. Manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline). Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OneNote. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective time management and organizational skills. Preferred Distribution engineering experience in a utility or consulting environment. Familiarity with ArcFM GIS Mapping or similar geographic information system tools. Project management experience, including coordinating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
