HJob Title: Business Systems and Integration Engineer Shift: Primarily 1st, schedule may vary according to business needs Our Mission: To make an impact within communities by providing the knowledge, resources and innovative solutions delivered through an alliance of Information Technology Integrators, Independent Software Vendors, and Cloud Providers with a common vision in resolving critical challenges directly impacting citizens. The Role: The Business Systems and Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing Strategic Communications' core business systems (including CRM, HubSpot, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Teams, and related platforms) to create a reliable single source of truth and automated workflows across the organization. The role will analyze the current tech stack, rationalize overlapping tools, and implement integrations and automations that improve visibility, reduce manual work, and support data-driven decision making aligned with organizational change management initiatives. This role will have hands-on development duties as well as managing and mentoring other employees. This role will also require an active secret clearance or higher or the ability to obtain such a clearance from the U.S. Government. Key Responsibilities Tech Stack Analysis and Roadmap Inventory and document current systems and integrations (TigerPaw/Rev, HubSpot, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Teams, Monday.com, etc.). Identify duplication, gaps, and manual "swivel-chair" processes across sales, delivery, and operations. Develop a phased roadmap for consolidating and integrating tools in line with Strategic's priorities. Present findings and recommendations to leadership with cost-benefit analysis and implementation timelines. CRM and Data Model Ownership Support the decision on CRM migration by mapping data entities, workflows, and reporting needs. Define golden data sources (e.g., where account, opportunity, and project records "live") and document integration rules and triggers. Partner with Finance, Sales, and Operations to ensure data structures align to pipeline, revenue, and delivery reporting. Establish data governance standards and document all data mappings for audit and compliance purposes. System Integration and Workflow Automation Design and implement integrations between TigerPaw, HubSpot, Smartsheet/Monday.com, SharePoint, and Teams using APIs, native connectors, or integration platforms. Automate key workflows to reduce manual steps and errors. Ensure integrated systems support real-time or near real-time updates for leadership dashboards and change portfolio reporting. Test integrations thoroughly and document rollout procedures and troubleshooting guides. Collaboration and Work Management Standardization Recommend and help implement a standard pattern (e.g., Teams + Smartsheet or Teams + Monday.com) for work management and collaboration. Plan and support the retirement of redundant tools while coordinating with change leadership on communication, training, and adoption. Document standardized configurations and best practices. Data Quality, Governance, and Monitoring Implement basic data quality checks, integration monitoring, and error handling. Document integration architectures, data flows, and standards in a central repository. Partner with security/IT on access, permissions, and compliance requirements (ISO 9001, CMMI, CMMC). Provide monthly or quarterly reports on integration health, data quality metrics, and automation impact. Cross-Functional Partnership Work closely with leadership to ensure system changes are scoped, assessed, and rolled out through the change framework. Translate business requirements into technical designs and explain constraints and trade-offs in clear, non-technical language. Support training and documentation for end users on new integrations and workflows. Participate in Change Management Control Board meetings to present integration/automation initiatives and assess impacts. Team Leadership and Development Establish team processes, documentation standards, and knowledge-sharing practices. Provide supervision, coaching and mentoring to more junior employees. Delegate integration implementation work and manage team capacity and project timelines. Required Experience 8+ years of experience in software/application development, with 3+ years in cloud-native application architecture. 5-7 years of experience integrating SaaS business systems (CRM, marketing automation, work management, collaboration tools) and building automated workflows in business operations or go-to-market environments. 3+ years of hands-on experience with tools such as HubSpot, Smartsheet, Monday.com, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. 2+ years of experience with APIs, REST, or integration platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make, Workato, Microsoft Power Automate, or native platform connectors). 2+ years of experience in data mapping, data modeling, or defining source-of-truth rules and ETL workflows across multiple systems. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional system implementation projects or tech stack migrations. Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and managing stakeholder expectations. Comfortable working in rapidly changing, growing organizations with competing priorities and resource constraints. Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, OR Equivalent work experience required HubSpot Certified Administrator or equivalent CRM platform certification (required or must obtain within 6 months of hire). Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) or higher certification (preferred). Integration Platform or API certification (e.g., Zapier, Make, Workato; preferred). Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) (preferred). ISO 9001:2015 or CMMI awareness Active clearance or the ability to obtain a secret clearance or higher with the U.S. government. Skills and Competencies Technical Skills Advanced proficiency with HubSpot, Smartsheet, Monday.com, SharePoint, and Teams environments. Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and basic scripting or automation logic. Familiarity with data profiling, data quality tools, and basic SQL or query languages. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) Comfort with Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools for documenting integrations and data flows. Hands-on experience with AWS services, including: Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, Dynamo DB/SQL, SQS, and Amazon EventBridge Hands- on experience with the following technologies: S3, Athena, Glue, Redshift, or similar analytics services IAM, security boundaries, and least-privilege design Workato,Tray.ai or similar Business and Analytical Skills Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to understand go-to-market, sales, delivery, and operations processes and pain points. Data-driven decision-making and comfort with metrics, KPIs, and reporting. Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects concurrently. Soft Skills Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong collaboration and cross-functional partnership skills. Change leadership and comfort with organizational adoption and training. Curiosity and continuous learning mindset; comfort with new tools and platforms. Project management fundamentals: experience with Agile methodologies is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience in professional services, government contracting, or engineering services industries. Experience with advanced automation Experience with Govly or similar government compliance platforms.
