The Business Admissions Coordinator and Program Support Specialist for the Godbold College of Business (GCB) is a full-time position primarily responsible for processing graduate business applications, registration of graduate students, and maintaining student records. This position collaborates with the Dean, Associate Dean, Director of Undergraduate and Director of Graduate Studies of the Godbold College of Business. This person also works closely with the Graduate Enrollment team. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload, and recommend and implement changes in office practices or procedures as needed. The ability to maintain a positive, professional, energetic, and engaging demeanor with a focus on customer service and to positively represent GCB and Gardner-Webb University is an integral part of the job requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Admissions Processing. • Conduct a preliminary review of all GCB applications. • Consult with the Director of Graduate Studies and Enrollment Office. • Communicate with potential students regarding acceptances and course load. • Maintain records for all business graduate students. • Advise students on course timeline, course rotation, and structure of the programs. • Identify and notify students when grades reflect suspensions, probation, dismissal, etc. • Work closely with the Registrar and Business Office regarding student record changes and holds. • Send reminder information to register for courses in the program to assist with retention numbers. • Build course schedules in Banner. • Register all graduate students for their courses each semester. • Attend enrollment events when requested. • Attend various meetings and serve as a recorder as needed. • Coordinate student activities and special functions for the GCB. • Assist with recruiting events. • Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. • Promote a positive working relationships with university personnel, GCB faculty, accrediting bodies, and outside agencies. • Other duties as assigned. Program Support Duties • Engage with and direct visitors, students, and co-workers appropriately. • Provide programmatic and administrative support by directing all program inquiries (email and telephone) to the appropriate individuals. • Perform desktop publishing duties by creating, developing, and editing visual presentations and preliminary GCB Program event programs. • Design, draft, and edit general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, program promotional information, and items. • Proofread all programmatic correspondence and documents for spelling, grammar, and layout, and independently make appropriate changes. • Send correspondence on behalf of the GCB Graduate Programs and the Director as appropriate. Coordinate with Creative Services as needed. • Coordinate GCB events including, but not limited to, Godbold Honors, Godbold Scholarship Day, Experiential Learning Days, and applicant interviews. • Utilize Microsoft Office and other University-specific software to facilitate communications with faculty, staff, students, and applicants. • Support the department by being the main coordinator of the GCB online document filing system. • Maintain student files and records according to the standards of the accreditation body. • Conduct audits on the files periodically and upon graduation. • Maintain databases of student and alumni contact information. • Perform other duties as required. Qualifications/Requirements: • Meets criteria for employment of the University • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Computer competence, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management • Superior organizational abilities • Bachelor's degree preferred Gardner-Webb University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC). The Godbold School of Business is also accredited by the Accrediting Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) worldwide.
