Job Type Full-time Description Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Directional Drill Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining directional drilling equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of underground utilities. This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities such as fiber optic cables, pipelines, and electrical conduits. Assess and prepare job sites, including marking drill paths, and identifying potential obstacles or hazards. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including daily reports and equipment logs. Coordinate with project managers, crew members, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and address any concerns or changes in project scope. Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the drilling process, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines. Provide guidance and training to junior crew members on proper operation and safety procedures. Requirements Qualifications: Experienceoperating directional drilling equipment. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in directional drilling or related field is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in using drilling software and GPS technology. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions. Willingness to travel as needed for various job sites. Must have a clean driving record. Working at outdoor job sites, often requiring work in varying weather conditions.
