Job Title: Service Manager Department: Virginia Service Department Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Location: Ashland, Virginia Reports To: Branch ManagerJob Overview The Service Manager is often the first point of contact for customers with service and repair needs and requires a professional with strong customer service and organizational skills. A commitment to excellent customer service, the ability to work with a team, and attention to detail are essential qualities for this position. Job site visits and occasional factory training travel will be required. The primary objective is to continue the high quality of customer service and extend service growth. Our most successful Service Manager: Possesses superior communication, analytical, and organizational skills Exhibit goal-oriented behaviors and time management principles Exude a customer-focused attitude Apply extensive attention to detail to all tasks Toggle between projects and responsibilities with ease Mechanical and electrical experience with pumps, motors, air compressors, dryers, and the ability to troubleshoot is required Possess basic experience with computers and wireless communication devices preferred. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted. Ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematics Ability to operate test/measuring equipment Have pump and air compressor field service experience (preferred). Possesses a High school diploma / GED equivalent Must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test Must maintain an active, REAL ID compliant driver's license with a clean driving record, or a valid U.S. passport, as required for access to federal facilities. Scope of responsibility: Handle service/technical calls Schedule and dispatch field technicians Prepares job folders Research parts needed for quotes, repairs, and pm contracts Assists with the re-quoting of pm contracts Assist/oversee shop operations Review and approve department employees' time sheets Review and determine the processing of "in work" and completed jobs Assist in identifying and sourcing requested parts for ongoing jobs Assist the sales department with technical information and service requests Make joint service calls with sales & service team(s) to develop new and existing accounts Monitor and arrange technician factory training Set up and help present safety meetings Complete customer safety questionnaires Attend customer and vendor meetings, as required Prepare repair and preventative maintenance proposals, as needed Negotiate customer/vendor billing disputes Assist internal and external customers with questions, concerns, and complaints Learn Sentrien and NetSuite operating systems so that support can be provided to the support staff In addition, other duties & responsibilities as needed to assist in the operation of the department Required to be on call and able to travel for out-of-town jobs.
