Job Description

Overview The Plant Manager will coordinate and direct all of the major plant functions, maintain good employee relations and meet all AFP budgetary objects. Responsible for the execution of all manufacturing operations including Product, Planning, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Maintenance, Purchasing, Safety, Shipping, Receiving and Materials Controls, all in conformance with AFP policies and all applicable regulatory and legal requirements. Support all strategic efforts to generate new sales and maintain the existing customer base. A Day in the Life | Responsibilities We Trust You With Plan and direct plant operations while continually working toward improved efficiencies and quality at a reduced cost Correlate performance to budgeted dollars and understand the variances and the reasons for them Determines priorities; processes work efficiently; conveys clear expectations for assignments; establishes clear agendas and desired outcomes; prepares for and conducts successful meetings; and follows up promptly after meetings Structuring of the product development strategy/process, improvement of product and processes in collaboration with R&D, Sales, and Corporate Responsible for implementing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Ensures compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations relating to food plant sanitation and the environment Responsible for adhering to all quality system requirements. What You Must Know | Education & Experience Degree in manufacturing or equivalent 5 - 10 years Plant Management experience with demonstrated increasingly responsible management experience. Dairy plant and/or canned food experience preferred. A demonstrated track record of driving exceptional results and key deliverables Self-motivation and safety awareness. What You Need to be Good At | Competencies & Skills Detailed knowledge of processes and procedures in areas of responsibility. General knowledge of all division processes and procedures. Working knowledge of business systems. Ability to combine information from multiple disciplines to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions and initiate action. Fosters collaboration and teamwork Utilizes strong interpersonal communication skills Your Working Relationships | Leadership Requires leading and motivating teams Ensuring employee development (training, assessment, skills development, etc.) Disseminating the Group's values and culture by acting as an intermediary between senior management and its teams Your Work Environment | Working Conditions & Safety Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
