Project Estimator

Wylander, a recruiting company specializing in the disaster restoration industry, is recruiting a Project Estimator for a full-service restoration company located in Augusta, GA.   Project Estimator Compensation and Benefits: Competitive Base Salary Starting $60K, plus (DOE) Eligible for Commission Health Benefits Company Vehicle Simple IRA, plus company match Paid Vacation and Paid Holidays ______________________________________________________________________________________ The Estimator is responsible for performing site inspections, document losses with accurate measurements, notes and photographs with strong attention to detail; estimating the cost of reconstruction of the entire project through the use of Xactimate; negotiating reconstruction costs with insurance carrier representatives; communicating with the Project Manager on issues that will affect the project schedule and/or budget. The estimator will also be able to project manage some of the simple jobs he’s estimated and run until it’s completion. The estimator will be willing to do additional errands such as permit runs, material pick ups, etc as his schedule allows to fill the time out on the days he doesn’t have estimates or not a full day of estimates. Project Estimator Responsibilities: Use Xactimate software to estimate residential and commercial water, fire, wind and mold restoration projects, including the reconstruction Ability to inspect and scope projects in a timely fashion Respond to property damage emergency calls when required Negotiate fair and accurate scope/cost for repairs Handle estimating inquiries and demonstrate a high level of problem resolution and technical assistance. Set proper client expectations and meet them Establish and maintain client relationships as well as relationships with insurance adjusters and claim representatives PM small simple jobs he’s estimated until their completion. Additional errands such as permit runs, material pick-ups, etc as his schedule allows to fill the time out for the days he doesn’t have estimates or not a full day of estimates. Get the field employees out in the morning from the office at 7:30 AM and communicate with them as needed to verify schedule. We have 3-4 crews running on average. Project Estimator Requirements: 3+ years’ experience as an estimator, preferably in the restoration industry Possess a strong construction background and be able to communicate with Insurance Adjusters/Reps that may have very little construction knowledge Must have knowledge of both residential and commercial restoration experience Xactimate proficiency is a plus.
