The YMCA of the Roses, serving both York and Lancaster Counties, is seeking a forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership. This role partners closely with the CEO and senior leadership to guide long-term fiscal health and organizational sustainability.POSITION SUMMARY:The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic leader on the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for the financial health and long-term sustainability of the YMCA. This role goes beyond accounting, it's about building systems that support strong decision-making, aligning finances with mission, and leading people with clarity and purpose.The CFO oversees finance, accounting, HR, and related administrative functions. They are responsible for modernizing financial systems, optimizing operational processes, and building a culture of data-informed leadership across the organization. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Team, providing insights that connect mission and margin.Lead the association's financial strategy, long-term forecasting, budgeting (including branch budgets), and capital planning.Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and capital needs; develop contingency and scenario plans as necessary.Identify and manage financial, operational, and strategic risks; lead association-wide risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies.Lead the development of key performance indicators (KPIs), financial dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor organizational health and program effectiveness.Champion the modernization of financial systems, digital platforms, and process improvements that enhance transparency and efficiency.Evaluate and model potential partnerships, mergers, or restructuring opportunities in alignment with long-term strategy.Oversee financial compliance including audits, IRS filings, tax-exempt bond requirements, and reports to government entities and YMCA of the USA.Ensure strong fund accounting practices and compliance with grant and restricted fund requirements; support development staff in managing grant budgets and reporting.Analyze trends and conduct sensitivity analysis to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.Supervise and develop the Finance and HR teams; promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and ongoing learning.Partner with the HR Director to align workforce planning, policies, and compliance with strategic goals.Provide financial modeling and strategy for property initiatives, capital planning, and affordable housing development.Cultivate strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, legal counsel, insurance providers, grantors, and peer organizations.Serve as lead staff to the Finance Committee, deliver clear and strategic financial presentations to Board and key stakeholders. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Strategic Thinking and InnovationFiscal ManagementCritical Thinking and Decision-MakingTeam Leadership and Talent DevelopmentCollaboration and Influence QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferredEight or more years of senior-level financial leadership, ideally in a nonprofit or multi-entity settingExperience with system evaluations, accounting software, and process improvementStrong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accountingAbility to use data to guide strategic decision-makingExperience in property strategy, capital planning, or affordable housing finance a plusFamiliarity with HR leadership and ability to supervise HR DirectorExcellent communication skills and commitment to YMCA mission and values WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to use a computer and communicate via phone or videoFrequently required to sit, reach, and move throughout the work environmentOccasionally lift and/or move up to 10 poundsVision requirements include close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focusModerate noise level in typical office environment Obtain Criminal background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
