As the Manager of the Information Technology Department, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic direction, management, and implementation of all information technology (IT) systems and initiatives within the organization. Your role will involve collaborating with company leadership, department heads, and external partners to ensure the effective use of technology to support the organization's goals, enhance business operations, and drive innovation. Candidates must reside in the greater Nashville area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates a culture of operational excellence that supports and champions innovation. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization's IT vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap aligned with the overall business objectives. Provide guidance and counsel to executive leadership on emerging technologies, digital trends, and potential opportunities for innovation and operational improvements. Identify and prioritize IT initiatives, ensuring resource allocation and budgetary planning to support strategic goals. Technology Infrastructure and Operations: Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, software, and security systems. Ensure the efficient and secure operation of all IT systems, networks, and databases, monitoring performance, reliability, and availability. Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard data, protect against cyber threats, and ensure regulatory compliance. IT Governance and Risk Management: Establish and maintain effective IT governance frameworks, processes, and controls to ensure the proper management of IT resources, investments, and risks. Assess and manage IT-related risks, including cybersecurity threats, data breaches, and disaster recovery planning. Collaborate compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to data privacy and protection in a HIPAA environment. Digital Transformation and Innovation: Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies to streamline processes, enhance customer experience, and enable data-driven decision-making. Foster a culture of innovation within the IT department and across the organization, promoting experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. Identify and evaluate strategic technology partnerships, vendors, and outsourcing opportunities to optimize IT capabilities and ensure cost-effectiveness. Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a geographically distributed high-performing IT team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to maximize individual and collective potential. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes creativity, accountability, and teamwork. Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and consultants, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to contractual agreements. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Background Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology preferred, or commensurate experience Experience in IT leadership role (3 years minimum), with a focus on infrastructure and help desk. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, software systems, and emerging technologies. Experience in leading innovative initiatives. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Solid understanding of HIPAA, cybersecurity principles and best practices. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance frameworks. Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, vendor relationships, and outsourcing agreements. Knowledge and Skills Strong leadership skills and able to act in a trust enabling, discretionary and ethical manner. Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization. A talent for troubleshooting and creative problem solving. A customer focused empathetic approach to issue, request, and process management. Knowledge of dental clinical technologies and how clinical staff use them. Knowledge of administrative and clinical processes used by clinical staff. Knowledge of the use of Practice Management Systems, and supporting administrative systems, in a dental clinical setting. Ability to work with vendors to hold them accountable to delivering and supporting clinical technology solutions. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Windows and Microsoft 365.
