Job Title: 1st shift WelderJob DescriptionAs a welder, you will be responsible for striking an arc to generate heat and melt metal, joining work pieces, guiding electrodes or guns along weld lines, and manually applying filler rods. You will perform welding in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead, and ensure that welds meet specified depths and bead sizes. Additionally, you will examine welds, clean or degrease joints, repair broken parts, and prepare surfaces for welding.Responsibilities Form arcs to generate heat and deposit metal from electrode to work piece. Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line to maintain arc length and movement speed. Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examine welds for bead size and other specifications. Manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal. Clean or degrease weld joint or work piece. Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces. Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter. Preheat work piece with hand torch or heating furnace. Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture. Tack assemblies together. Essential Skills Experience with blueprints. MIG welding experience (1+ years manually welding). Basic understanding of welding fundamentals. Experience with stainless, mild, or carbon steel. Positive attendance history. Experience with assembly, structural welding, and measuring tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Eagerness to learn. Experience with hand and power tools. Comfortable working in non-temperature controlled environments. Open to overtime. Availability for 1st shift.
