Functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.What You Will Do: Provides coaching, direction, and supervision of the unit/area and all staff members with 24-hour accountability for operations. Recruits, develops, counsels, evaluates andretainsstaff withinappropriate HRpolicies and guidelines. Ensures work schedules and daily assignments areestablished. Participates in direct patient care as needed. Directs the planning and implementation of department education/trainingwhich promotes professional competence and personal growth and ensuresoptimalpatient care. Functions as a clinical resource. Ensures financial performance and profitability through the development and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets for designated area/unit.Is responsible forlabor, supply, equipmentcontroland cost containment for designated area/unit. Directs all quality monitoring for designatedarea, focusing onoptimalpatient outcomes, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous quality and process improvementprogramfor unit services. Includes both intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities. Develops departmental standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Maintains awareness of department/service area operations andpotential forproblems through regular rounds and interaction with physicians and staff.
