Salary: $16.91 - $23.34 Hourly Location : Greenbelt, MD Job Type: Seasonal Job Number: TSS.26 Department: PGC Parks and Recreation Division: Management Services Division Opening Date: 02/18/2026 Closing Date: 3/5/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Description The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, Management Services Division, Training & Organizational Development, is currently seeking a Training Support Specialist for a seasonal position. This position joins an award-winning team of three Senior Training and Organizational Development Specialists and a Lead Training and Organizational Specialist (the Team Leader). The position would be managed by one of the Senior Training and Organizational Development Specialists. The primary responsibility for this position would be to assist in the execution of the Training and Organizational Development Unit's training program. This role is ideal for an undergraduate student, recent graduate seeking hands-on experience, or anyone interested in gaining part-time experience in the training and development field. Work hours/Rate This position will pay at a rate of $16.91/hr. - $23.34/hr. based on experience and qualifications. The work is scheduled for 14 hours per week. 2 x 7 hours or 4 x 3.5 hours. Monday and Wednesday morning being core days. Upload attendance records for completed sessions. Attend and assist with event set up and coordination Provide administrative support for training evaluation Gather feedback from participants using existing templates and tools and summarize feedback into actionable steps for implementation. Maintain records of evaluation data in spreadsheets or LMS reports. Conduct simple online searches for monitoring and evaluation methods, including the Kirkpatrick Framework. Assist with marketing and communications Create and post announcements via email or Microsoft Teams Update course information Assist with research on training and organizational best practices Summarize findings in a clear, easy-to-read format for the team. Support data collection for training outcomes Compile data from surveys and attendance reports. Prepare summaries or charts to show trends in participation and satisfaction. Assist with drafting and finalizing the team's End of Year report. General team support Provide administrative assistance to Senior Training and Organizational Development Specialists. Scheduling, document preparation, and other tasks as needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED. One year of training/ administrative experience Applicants must be at least 18 years or older Required Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel, PPT Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing Ability to work independently and follow instructions Ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Critical thinking Time management/schedule management Knowledge of evaluation methodologies Supplemental Information May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing. Supplemental Information Training events are located countywide. These positions are seasonal/part-time and do not include a benefits package. Hourly rate is based on experience. Must successfully pass a complete background investigation prior to hire. This is for informational purposes only and is subject to change. Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees Health Insurance Plans You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period. If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office. Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
