Job Description Responsible for performing as a big data and data analytics tools engineering specialist on the Data Private Cloud; work closely with other technical staff to manage, support, and engineer platform tools across various big data and cloud environments including Cloudera Data platform (CDP), Hortonworks (HWX), and Openshift Container Platform (OCP); administer and support tools on the data private cloud, including CDP, HWX, and MapR; install, configure, and maintain data analytical and virtualization tools such as Dremio, jupyterHub and Atscale across multiple clusters; develop proof-of-concepts solutions leveraging CDP and OCP technologies; deploy tools and troubleshooting issues, perform root cause analysis, and remediate vulnerabilities; utilize Big Data platforms, Cloudera, MapR, Hortonworks, platform engineering, automation scripting, DevOps practices, Python, SQL, and Java to perform duties; act as a technical subject matter expert, supporting programming staff during development, testing, and implementation phases; develop automation scripts for configuration and maintenance of data virtualization tools; lead complex platform design, coding, and testing efforts; drive advanced modeling, simulation, and analytical initiatives; maintain comprehensive documentation of Hadoop cluster configurations, processes, and procedures; work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements; deploy and manage tools in cloud and containerized environments (CDP, OCP); design and implement robust GCP solutions aligned with business needs; oversee seamless transition of legacy systems to GCP with minimal disruption; and define cloud adoption strategies, governance policies, and best practices. Location: Detroit, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US; Salary: $155,800 per year; Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree); Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as an Applications Programmer, as a Manager of Software Engineering, as a Software Engineer, as a Software Developer, as a Systems Operations Engineer, or in a related occupation; Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year's use of all the following: Big Data platforms, Cloudera, MapR, Hortonworks, platform engineering, automation scripting, DevOps practices, Python, SQL, and Java. Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
