The Village at Penn State, located in State College, PA, is one of the area's premier independent living communities, has an exciting opportunity for aFull Time Maintenance Technician position. Schedule Details Full Time 7:00am - 7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am Rotating shifts 12 hour shifts Worked every other weekend Job Responsibilities:Demonstrate precise knowledge and relevant experience in the operations of maintenance, grounds, and security, as well as an understanding of the role that these services play in meeting the goals of the organization. Communicate (both verbally and in writing) effectively with customers, management, and staff. Demonstrate the ability to work with all employees. Aid in the planning of preventive maintenance and work with other staff to meet operational goals and customer needs. Perform assigned duties in the areas of general maintenance; i.e., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, swimming pool maintenance, construction, preventative maintenance, and repairs. Must be able to maintain and operate The Village's utilities and systems. This includes winter as well as summer maintenance needs. Work with all other staff to actively portray a safe environment for The Village at Penn State's residents, visitors, and fellow employees. Perform assigned duties in the areas of grounds and landscape maintenance during all seasons. This includes but is not limited to grass cutting, shrub trimming, tree pruning, weeding, mulching, planting, and fertilizing. Perform assigned duties in the area of Village Security. This includes but is not limited to making rounds, locking and unlocking of scheduled entranceways, checking for unregistered Village vehicles and parking issues. Must comply with all OSHA, PA DOH, EPA, Life Safety, and local fire code regulations. Aid in the management of community fleet vehicles, including minor repair services and record keeping.
