Engages in the prevention and detection of crime, the enforcement of Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances, and other duties as required. Hours Full-Time; Schedule Varies (subject to call 24 hours per day, possible rotating shifts, nights, weekends and holidays) Wage Range $34.40 - $44.86 per hour Requirements Working knowledge of operating procedures of the Sheriff's Office, Municipal, County, State & Federal law & ordinances, roadway system and geographic characteristics of Dodge County, policies and procedures of the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, principles, practices, methods & modern techniques of crime prevention and law enforcement, and emergency first aid procedures. Must be skilled in the use of law enforcement equipment such as firearms, impact weapons and other defensive weapons, and restraint techniques, as well as laws & policies that regulate their use. Ability to react quickly & calmly in emergencies. Skilled in ability to express oneself clearly both orally and in writing. Minimum Qualifications Must be a FT licensed peace officer or eligible to be licensed as required by the Peace Officers Standards and training Board of Minnesota (POST Board). Must pass a written, oral, psychological, strength and agility test physical examinations and background investigation. Must possess a valid Minnesota driver's license with no serious traffic violations within the last three years. Prefer Spanish speaking skills but not required.
