Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Full Description Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and safety-driven Heavy Equipment Operator to operate construction and earthmoving equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with multiple types of heavy machinery and a strong understanding of job site safety and production goals. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, and backhoes Perform earthmoving, grading, trenching, site preparation, and material handling Load trucks and transport materials safely within job site Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks Follow OSHA and company safety policies at all times Read site plans, grade stakes, or instructions to complete projects accurately Work closely with site supervisors and crew members to meet project deadlines Maintain productivity while ensuring quality and safety standards Qualifications 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred Experience in construction, site prep, grading, or utility work Ability to operate multiple types of equipment Understanding of grade control and site safety practices Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred, if applicable) Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor when needed Preferred Experience Commercial construction or industrial site work Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm) GPS/grade control systems OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Work Environment Outdoor construction sites Exposure to weather, dust, and noise Physically demanding role requiring standing, climbing, and operating equipment for extended periods #SAVGA Savannah, GA 3166 2 Park of Commerce Boulevard Suite I Savannah, GA 31405
