Network Security Analyst II System Security & Risk Specialist Austin, TX Onsite 6 month contract This role is about accountability. Every system has an SSP. Every system has a Security Assessment. Every system has a documented Risk Assessment. If that level of structure excites you instead of intimidates you, keep reading. We're looking for a Network Security Analyst II who understands Governance, Risk, and Compliance at a practical level. Not theory. Real documentation. Real assessments. Real remediation tracking. You'll be supporting enterprise cybersecurity operations and working directly with program areas, Information Owners, Custodians, technical teams, and the CISO Office. You'll help ensure systems align with NIST SP 800 53, the NIST Risk Management Framework, DIR Security Control Standards, and internal CISO procedures. RSA Archer serves as the system of record, so experience inside a GRC platform matters. Must haves • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity GRC, system security planning, or information assurance • Hands on experience developing System Security Plans, conducting Security Assessments, and facilitating Risk Assessments • Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800 53 and NIST RMF • Experience using a GRC platform, RSA Archer preferred • Experience working directly with Information Owners and Custodians • Strong technical writing and documentation skills • Ability to work independently on complex assignments • At least one certification such as Security+, GSEC, CAP, or CISSP Nice to have • Familiarity with DIR Security Control Standards • Experience supporting ATO and continuous monitoring activities • Experience in state or federal government cybersecurity programs • CRISC or CISA certification You'll develop and update SSPs, plan and conduct Security Assessments, facilitate Risk Assessment workshops, document mitigation plans, track POA&Ms, and prepare audit ready documentation packages. You'll also help produce leadership level security posture reports and compliance metrics. This position supports audit readiness, system authorization, and enterprise risk visibility. It requires precision, discipline, and the confidence to guide stakeholders through structured security processes.
