Posting Position Information Posting Number: 0601371-C Position Type: Faculty Special Notes to Applicants:Information Regarding the Salary Placement Process: LBCC is committed to the principles of Oregon Pay Equity. Faculty starting salaries are placed on a range determined by the Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement, and dependent on experience. Progression on the salary schedule is subject to the terms and conditions laid out in the Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement. Click here to view the current agreement. The 2026-27 starting salary range for this position is $70,753 - $81,191 for a 168-day schedule. Salary will be prorated for remaining days in the contract. It is vital that on the long-form resume you include dates for each position held in a "MM/YYYY - MM/YYYY" format, and include whether positions were at a full-time or part-time appointment. If the position was a part-time appointment, please indicate the number of hours worked on average each week. Teach a variety of Accounting and Business classes in both face-to-face and online modalities. Instructional assignments may include the full range of Business (BA) prefix courses in the LBCC Catalog. Create, manage and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. Participate collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well being of the department and the college, and collective and individual interest of its staff and student body. Support and seek to fulfill LBCC's mission as adopted by the Board of Education. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Business Administration or a Master's Degree in a related field with at least 27 graduate level credits in business-related coursework. Preferred Qualifications: Professional accounting work experience in the public or private sector. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure, or Licensed Tax Preparer through the State of Oregon (LTP), or Licensed Tax Consultant in Oregon (LTC). Proficiency in Business law. Proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of Principles of Finance. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Requires the ability to work with staff and students. Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Essential Duties: Teaching: Plan and develop classes in Accounting, Business, and computer software applications in business environments. Must be able to teach in both face-to-face and online modalities and to use active and a variety of learning strategies in face-to-face and digital environments. Curriculum: Contribute to program innovation, improvement, and development. Update course syllabi to align with program objectives. Participate in Program Review and Outcome Assessment. Communication: Communicate effectively at all levels of responsibility. Provide out-of-class communication opportunities with students. Participate in department, division, and college meetings as appropriate. Participate in the work of the program advisory committee. Represent the college to external constituencies as appropriate. Seek to promote a spirit of collegiality in dealings with college staff. Student Advising, Retention, and Assessment: Serve as an academic advisor to provide academic and career advising for students interested in pursuing a career in Accounting and Business. Stay up to date with college advising tools and campus resources. Participate in department processes designed to recruit, advise, and retain students. Participate in quarterly Outcome Assessment work. Leadership: Bring leadership experience to contribute to department and college needs. Planning: Participate in all aspects of program and department planning and in the continuous assessment of department goals and objectives. Budget: Confer with the Division Dean about the program budget. Personnel: Collaborate with Associate Dean and Department Chair, as needed, on the selection of department faculty and staff. Professional Development: Maintain competency and currency in the Accounting and Business profession to inform teaching practices and content. In addition, participate in professional development for course design and innovation.
